Carnival Dream entered dry dock recently to receive some major enhancements and new additions.
The cruise ship which is the first in its class is currently undergoing a major refurbishment where all aspects of the vessel will be refreshed and improved. During the dry dock which began on January 29, the ship will get some new FUN 2.0 spaces which can already be experienced on others ships throughout the fleet.
What everyone really wants to know is what the Carnival Dream will be getting during the upgrade. It will be getting a lot of the popular FUN 2.0 features already seen on other ships in the fleet. Guys Burger Joint will replace Off the Grill, Alchemy Bar will replace Plaza Bar at Ocean Plaza, Blue Iguana Cantina will replace the Pizzeria, Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que will replace Oceanside Barbeque. Carnival Deli will move inside the lido restaurant to make way for the new Pizzeria del Capitano.
While the Carnival Dream is in dry dock it will give workers the chance to do any major maintenance on the propellers and hull.Inside the ship, there will be new carpeting, bedding, and hotel operational improvements to make the guest experience the best it can be. Once it’s all complete on February 11 the ship will be sparkling ready to take on passengers who will be the first to experience all the improvements.
The 130,000 gross ton Carnival Dream will continue its week-long Caribbean cruises out of New Orleans. the first voyage will depart on February 12.
