We’re always excited when a Carnival cruise ship undergoes a major refurbishment and right now Carnival Legend is in Portland, Oregon to receive plenty of updates and new features. Even though there’s lot’s to look forward to things are looking messy right now as workers construct new spaces.
Carnival Legend Dry Dock
So we’ve managed to get some exclusive Carnival Legend dry dock photos from the Vigor Yard shipyard in Portland, Oregon. Before you take a look at the photos below the ship is halfway through her renovation and onboard isn’t looking so shiny and new just yet! Workers are adding the latest Carnival features and enhancements.
You can read our previous post on the ship’s makeover right here.
A cruise ship dry dock isn’t just about the public spaces and guest areas. Work is often done behind the scenes and outside the ship. In the photos above workers can be seen working on Carnival Legend’s hull and propellers. Doing maintenance and upgrading technical aspects is an essential part of making sure the Carnival cruise ship continues to stay seaworthy and in good cruising shape for years to come.
We don’t see any completed spaces just yet but the ship looks like a hive of activity has supplies and work is being carried out by different workers all around the ship. There are also still crew members onboard working in their departments and doing essential work ready for when the Carnival Legend returns to service in less than a week.
