21 Reasons You Should Take a Carnival Panorama Cruise

We've got the reasons why you should be booking a Carnival Panorama cruise vacation. Including things to do on the cruise ship, stats and more!

Carnival Panorama, the newest ship in Carnival’s fleet, set sail in December 2019. The third Vista-class vessel, it was just delivered from the shipyard, joining its sister ships, Carnival Vista and Carnival Horizon. It was highly anticipated as one of the best new cruise ships on the high seas. Carnival Panorama’s debut took place in Long Beach, California.

Carnival Panorama is based out of Long Beach. From there, the ship takes cruisers around Mexico and the Mexican Riviera all year long. Various Mexican ports of call include Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlán.

If you’re familiar with any of Carnival’s other Vista-class ships, then you’ll see similarities aboard Carnival Panorama. There are many of the same shopping, dining, drinking and entertainment venues, alongside new features that you won’t find on any other ship, such as a trampoline park in place of the previous IMAX theaters found on other Vista-class ships.

So, ready to check out Carnival Panorama for yourself? Here are 21 reasons you should take a Carnival Panorama cruise. There are more than enough ways to have fun across this expansive mega-ship.

1. Stateroom Options

The stateroom options aboard Carnival Panorama are plentiful. Staterooms are split across decks 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 and 9. When booking your stateroom, you’ll get the option to choose from staterooms categorized as interior, oceanview, balcony, suite, Family Harbor, Cloud 9 and Havana.

The most notable of these categories are the Havana staterooms and suites and the Cloud 9 staterooms. With the former, you enjoy easy access to the Havana bar and pool (the suite kicks the luxury up a notch with a huge outdoor space and an over-the-top bathroom); with the latter, you’ll get special amenities related to the Cloud 9 spa.

The Family Harbor staterooms, meanwhile, offer amenities specially catered to traveling families, such as concierge service and snacks.

2. Carnival Panorama Trampoline Park

As mentioned, Carnival Panorama is bringing some new fun to the Carnival Vista class. One of the big changes that you’ll see onboard this ship that you won’t find elsewhere is the replacement of the previous IMAX theater space with a new trampoline park. This one-of-a-kind trampoline park is called Sky Zone and it’s the first entertainment venue of its kind at sea.

The trampoline park and challenge zone offers fun-lovers of all ages some gravity-defying activities that are sure to delight, whether you just want to play dodgeball with an edge, or you want to take the kids for some toddler-safe bounce time. There are even blacklight glow parties, for some nightlife fun with a twist.

3. Carnival’s New Shows

Carnival and Playlist Productions, the brand’s on-board theater production house, always puts together some great entertainment, but with the unveiling of Carnival Panorama, the teams are really setting the bar high, with two new theatrical shows. Broadway Beats presents favorited show tunes against a background of NYC-style urban rhythm, with street-style art as an added bonus.

Rock Revolution channels Woodstock for inspiration, but adds in some modern-day fun with the addition of drones on stage. And, if you need even more entertainment during your time on Carnival Panorama, you can still find fan-favorite shows like Celestial Strings and Soulbound.

4. Vista-Class SkyRide

While Carnival Panorama does offer some new thrills and fun, it still sticks to some of the activities that the Vista-class does best. For example, the Carnival Panorama SportSquare still offers families some of the coolest entertainment options you’ll find on a cruise ship anywhere in the world, like the SkyRide, a two-lane bike course that’s suspended over the deck, for awesome views of the entire ship and the ocean beyond.

Other fun entertainment options that Carnival Panorama carries on similarly to its Vista-class predecessors include The Clubhouse, with its bowling and billiards; outdoor activities like volleyball and soccer; SkyGreens, for golf on the water; and SkyCourse, the adrenaline-pumping ropes course.

5. Cuban Inspired Havana Bar

One of Carnival Panorama’s most highly touted watering holes is the Havana Bar & Pool. This high-end bar meets water retreat is the perfect place to relax during the day, but it also is a bumping nightlife spot in the evening. Cuban cocktails are flowing all day long, though, no matter when you visit. Plus, there are great views to enjoy and you’re always just a few steps away from the pool.

6. Carnival Panorama Pools

Pool bums and water thrill seekers alike will enjoy everything Carnival Panorama has to offer in terms of water features. WaterWorks is Carnival Panorama’s answer to an on-board water park and it has everything that you’d expect from a company whose main objective is to provide as much fun as possible.

7. Carnival Panorama Adults-Only Spaces

One great thing that Carnival always manages to do on its ships is to make space for adults to have their own retreat away from the kids. While Carnival definitely brands itself as family-friendly, there are also cruisers who are traveling as a couple, without kids, too.

So, whether you’re traveling childless or just want to get away from the constant chatter and energy for a bit, Carnival has you covered, with its Serenity Adults-Only Retreat aboard Carnival Panorama. The huge space is filled with cabanas and chaises, so you can watch the world float by with a cocktail in hand, no splashing or screaming kids allowed.

8. Relaxation at the Cloud 9 Spa

Beyond relaxing in the Serenity Adults-Only Retreat, added relaxation comes in the form of the Cloud 9 Spa. The tranquil space is totally created with your ultimate comfort in mind, whatever kind of treatment you desire. Massages, facials, body wraps, a visit to the thermal suites — all of it is available and ready and waiting to whisk you away from your worries.

9. Guy Fieri Venues on Carnival Panorama

Fans of Guy Fieri really love the Food Network star’s burger joint that sits on many Carnival cruise ships, but when you’re aboard Carnival Panorama, you have not one, but two ways to experience a trip to Flavor Town.

There is, of course, Guy’s Burger Joint, for customized burgers that will make your mouth water. But on top of that, there’s also the newer Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse & Brewhouse, a place where you can enjoy classic barbecue with a kick alongside craft brews that are to die for. There’s also live music at the smokehouse and a free menu at lunchtime.

10. Carnival Panorama Dining

Everyone has different tastes and food preferences, and that’s definitely the case when you bring together cruisers from all different places, age groups and cultures. So, Carnival Panorama offers a wealth of dining options, so everyone can find a restaurant that they like aboard the ship, no matter what their favorite type of cuisine might be.

There’s Bonsai Teppanyaki, for an interactive meal experience similar to hibachi; Bonsai Sushi, for fresh, amazing sushi, whether you want to dine indoors or out, surrounded by beautiful bonsai trees; the Seafood Shack, for New England-style eats featuring plenty of seafood and ocean views that can’t be beat.

Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, for those who prefer the classic steakhouse style of dining, with all the dark wood, lush decor and steak and sides your heart can handle; Jiji Asian Kitchen, for delightful fine dining with Asian flair; Cucina Del Capitano, for family-style Italian dining that just hits the spot every single time; and — of course — the fan-favorited BlueIguana Cantina, for your top-rated Mexican foods served alongside frosty Caribbean cocktails.

And, if you want a more intimate dining experience, there’s always the Chef’s Table, where a select few guests dine together in a warm, inviting environment that’ll be sure to thrill any true foodie.

11. Dedicated Kids Spaces

Just like adults get their own spaces to enjoy a little bit of privacy while on a Carnival Panorama cruise, the kids get their own space as well, with Carnival’s award-winning kids clubs. There’s something for every age group, so no one’s left out on the fun, right down to the offerings for infants.

Toddlers can take advantage of Zumbini classes, so they can move to the beat and start to develop their penchant for rhythm early on.

The overall Camp Ocean welcomes kids ages 2 to 11, splitting them up by age groups to enjoy age-appropriate games, fun, crafts and educational opportunities.

Children in their pre-teen years can head to Circle C, for fun in a tech-centric environment.

Then teens ages 15 and up get their own space in the form of Club O2, where the vibe is super chill and laidback, perfect for the teen that thinks they’re “too cool” to hang with the family.

12. Special Meal Diets

Carnival realizes that not everyone can eat the same things. But food intolerances or allergies shouldn’t stop you from having a fun time on your vacation. Carnival does its best to cater to cruisers with any type of food sensitivity, whether that might be carbs, sugar, gluten, cholesterol or anything else.

They can also put together meals for special diets like vegan, vegetarian and kosher. Whatever your needs, you can rest assured that the Carnival culinary crew has you covered.

13. Snacks on Carnival Panorama

Whatever it is that you prefer to nosh on, you can find it aboard Carnival Panorama. The dining options are plentiful, of course, but that doesn’t just pertain to the sit-down dining options. It’s also very easy to find grab-and-go options and to grab a snack whenever you feel like it.

Want an ice cream cone? Swirls has frozen yogurt and ice cream in abundance. Just need to get your caffeine fix? Stop by JavaBlue Cafe.

Fancy a slice of pizza at literally any hour of the day (and we mean literally any hour)? Pizzeria del Capitano is there with fresh pies all day long. If it’s a sandwich with a pickle you crave, The Carnival Deli is there.

14. The Fun Never Stops!

From the time you board the ship, until the day you depart, the party is always on, when you’re aboard Carnival Panorama. Carnival’s traditional Sailaway Party kicks off your cruise in a fun fashion, with DJ tunes, but then every night afterward you can be sure you’ll find parties across a multitude of venues on the ship.

Whether you like to party in a more intimate, upscale atmosphere, or you want a loud, bumping rave, you’ll see it. Drink, dance and have a great time! Worried about leaving the kids alone while you and your spouse go out on the town (or, rather, the ship)?

No worries. Carnival offers its highly-praised on-board babysitting so you can keep the party going until the earliest morning hours.

15. Family Fun & Activities

If your aim with your next cruise is to make the family a little closer, then look no further than a Carnival Panorama cruise. No matter the age your kids are currently, there are ways for families to spend quality time together. Build a special bear at the Build-A-Bear Workshop at Sea.

Introduce your kids to some fictional characters that have stood the test of time — the entire Dr. Seuss cast. Laugh until your sides hurt at The Punchliner Comedy Club; there are family-friendly shows for the younger kids, and more adult-centered shows after dark. Try to solve a mystery and put your heads together with the on-board game of CLUE.

Get creative at Make it With Michaels events. Get competitive and try your best to beat your fellow cruisers, when you participate in Hasbro, The Game Show, a life-size version of some of your favorite games. The options are endless!

16. Carnival Panorama Bars

You’re on vacation! Live a little! It’s definitely not hard to relax when you can find a tasty cocktail at every turn, on Carnival Panorama. Sip on your favorite rum drinks and draft beers at RedFrog Rum Bar, while enjoying some live music and views of the ocean. Enjoy craft cocktails mixed by the masters at Alchemy Bar.

And make sure you try out the exclusive Carnival beers that are available at multiple venues throughout the ship — you can’t find them anywhere on land!

17. Ship Wi-Fi

For a long time, one of the most prevalent complaints about cruising was the terrible WiFi and the inability to connect with anyone back home. Well, this complain is a thing of the past!

Carnival boasts on-board internet and WiFi that will allow you to share all of your fun with the folks back home or your bevy of Instagram followers. Inspire a little FOMO in your friends, when you show off everything that Carnival Panorama offers.

18. Photo Studio

Go a step beyond those quick, posed portraits that you get by the pool or at the dinner table. Carnival Panorama boasts its own professional photography studio, Dreams Studio.

19. On Board Shops

Carnival Panorama knows that you don’t just turn into a different person when you step aboard a cruise ship. So, they’ve got all your guilty pleasures covered.

In need of a little retail therapy? Check out the shops that carry all your favorite brands, from clothing to jewelry to makeup and fragrances. Just need a coffee or cocktail to put your mind at ease? Well, as we’ve already noted, there are plenty of places to find both.

20. SkyFitness Center

Like to sweat out your stress? Hit the gym and work it out. There are multiple ways to work up a sweat when you’re aboard Carnival Panorama.

In addition to the state-of-the-art fitness center, the ship also offers regular fitness classes that you’ll enjoy in a group, as well as a SkyFitness center — a gym that’s literally on top of the cruise ship, so you can take advantage of the open air and ocean views, all while getting your blood pumping.

21. Carnival Panorama Casino

Is it really a cruise ship without a casino? We didn’t think so. Get your gamble on at Carnival Panorama’s casino, with its casino tournaments, free drinks, scratch-offs, poker, table games and even casino prize games (in case you want to win a cool gift to take home, rather than just some cash).
