15 Things You Need To Know About Seattle Cruise Parking

As Alaska cruises restart in 2022, we’ve checked out all the latest information about Seattle cruise parking. If you’re driving to Seattle for an Alaska cruise, you’ll probably need car parking for the duration of your cruise.

We have all the options covered below, along with tips, prices, distance to the port, shuttle service, and information to help you choose the best Seattle cruise parking to suit your needs.

1. Why Seattle Cruise Parking is Expensive

Seattle cruise parking is among the most expensive of any cruise port in the USA, and here’s why. The port is in a prime location close to downtown Seattle so there is very little available space for cruise parking lots nearby. Cruise parking companies have very little competition to encourage lower prices.

Also, the busy Alaska cruise season only runs from late April through late September so cruise car parking has a very short season in which to operate and make a profit.

You may want to consider Seattle hotels that offer car parking and a shuttle to the port. Alternatively, park further from the cruise for lower parking prices and get a taxi to the cruise port.

Some of the cheapest long-term parking can be found at hotels near Sea-Tac Airport making a Stay, Park, and Cruise package a more attractive option.

2. Seattle Cruise Terminal Locations

There are two cruise terminals in Seattle, with most departures from Terminal 91, also known as the Smith Cove cruise terminal. This is at the north end of Elliott Bay, about 3.5 miles north of downtown Seattle and it serves Carnival, Celebrity Cruises, Holland America, Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean.

Cruises with Norwegian (NCL) and Oceania cruise lines currently depart from Pier 66 Bell Street Cruise Terminal. This central terminal is 1.1 miles north of downtown Seattle and within walking distance of the famous Pike Place Market.

3. Driving to Seattle Cruise Port

If you are driving to Seattle cruise port from outside the city, you will probably use the I-5 Interstate which runs north from San Diego, CA and south from the US/Canadian border.

For Pier 66 (Bell Street Terminal) from the I-5 Interstate take exit 164A then follow signs for Madison St and Alaskan Way to reach the cruise terminal.

For Smith Cove cruise terminal, from the I-5 Interstate take exit 167 and continue along Mercer St to Elliot Ave W and Garfield Street to reach the cruise terminal.

4. Republic Parking Northwest cruise parking at Pier 91 (Smith Cove)

Pier 91 parking is the closest cruise parking option for those departing on cruises with Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Carnival, Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean.

Owned by Republic Parking Northwest, it has 1100 parking spaces and availability for RVs and oversize vehicles that exceed the 6’6” height limit at other cruise parking garages. Prebooking is essential. Cancelations up to 72 hours before departure are subject to a 30% cancelation fee. After that, there is no refund.

• Hours: 7 am to 4 pm cruise days only. After hours there is an additional $40 fee
• Cost: $27 per day; $26 when booked and prepaid online

5. Republic Parking Northwest cruise parking at Pier 66 (Bell Street Pier)

Cruise parking at the Bell Street Pier parking garage is also operated by Republic Parking Northwest and it accommodates 1500 vehicles. Covered, convenient and secure, it is the nearest cruise parking for those departing from Pier 66 (Bell Street Terminal) on cruises with Oceania and Norwegian Cruise Line.

Prebooking is essential. Cancellations up to 72 hours before departure are subject to a 30% cancelation fee. There is no refund closer to departure.

6. Seattle Cruise Parking for Disabled Passengers

Cruisers with limited mobility can use the 25 handicap parking spaces available for cruise parking at Pier 66 Bell St Pier Garage. There are currently no price concessions for veterans or disabled drivers.

7. Seattle Cruise Parking for RVs and Oversize Vehicles

Parking is available at Pier 91 cruise terminal for RVs and vehicles that exceed the 6’6” height limit on other port parking lots. Parking availability is limited and must be reserved online ahead of time.

Those using this service must first drop passengers and luggage at the cruise terminal drop-off point. You will receive directions to the off-site parking lot and a taxi voucher will be issued for the 15-20 minute taxi ride back to the cruise terminal.

• Hours: 7am to 4pm cruise days only. After hours there is an additional $40 fee
• Cost: $50 per day up to 40’ in length; $62 for longer vehicles

8. Seattle CruisePark

Seattle CruisePark offers cruise parking by the week. It has limited RV parking. Located on a National Guard base, security is very high! The price includes luggage assistance and a complimentary shuttle to the port (3 mins to Pier 91 and 8 mins to Pier 66).

9. Seattle Waterfront Marriott

The luxury Seattle Marriott Waterfront Hotel offers parking for cruisers and no overnight stay is required. Reservations must be made ahead of time and no oversize vehicles can be accommodated in the garage. There is a 6’6” height restriction.

Once you have dropped your vehicle with the valet attendant, taxis are available outside the hotel to transport you to the cruise port for the usual metered fee. You can also use Lyft/Uber.

You may want to drop your luggage and passengers at the port terminal before parking at the Waterfront Marriott Hotel. You can then walk the short distance back to Bell Street Pier 66 on foot. Retain your valet ticket for your return.

11. MarQueen Hotel

Conveniently close to Pier 91, the historic MarQueen Hotel is a well-located 3.5 star hotel with air-conditioned rooms and suites. Guests have kitchenette amenities, flatscreen TV and Wi-Fi.

Although it does not offer a shuttle to the port, this hotel is a good option for longer stays before or after your Alaska cruise. It has secure parking (for a fee), bar, lounge, restaurant and baggage storage.
