13 Things to Do on a Celebrity Reflection Cruise

Everything you should know about the Celebrity Reflection cruise ship, the final Solstice-class vessel from Celebrity Cruises.

Celebrity Reflection is a Solstice-class cruise ship that’s provided luxury world travelers with lots to enjoy since it was initially floated out in 2012. The nearly decade-old ship was the last of the Solstice-class cruise ships, following its sister ships Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Solstice and Celebrity Silhouette. Celebrity Reflection is the largest cruise ship of the five Solstice-class ships and cost Celebrity a whopping $750 million to build.

More than 3,600 passengers can be accommodated on a Celebrity Reflection cruise, though general capacity is usually just over 3,000. A crew of 1,293 people man the ship, which has 17 decks (13 for guests), resulting in one more deck than the other ships in the Solstice class. Celebrity Reflection is 125,366 GT, with a length of 1,047 feet.

Since Celebrity Reflection is still on the young side, she’s yet to undergo any extensive refurbishments (though there have been a few), but the ship is scheduled to undergo a more thorough dry dock in January 2023, to bring her up to Celebrity Revolution standards.

Currently, you can find 1,523 staterooms aboard Celebrity Reflection, with nearly 80 percent of those staterooms offering verandas, and more than 400 large enough to accommodate as many as three or four guests. The staterooms are 15 percent larger, on average, than what you’ll find on other Celebrity ships, with modular closets, under-bed storage, large bathrooms and more.

Thinking of taking a Celebrity Reflection cruise in 2020? Here are 13 things you’ll be able to do.

1. Pick from a dozen dining venues aboard a Celebrity Reflection cruise, for meals sure to please your palate

There are 12 different dining venues aboard Celebrity Reflection, with six specialty venues, some requiring reservations.

The main restaurant, with its two-story glass wine tower, is Opus and serves sophisticated, all-day, international meals created by a Michelin-starred chef. The Lawn Club Grill is a unique restaurant with an outdoor grilling vibe overlooking the Lawn Club and views of the water. Le Petit Chef fuses entertainment and dining for an unforgettable experience only available during a Celebrity Reflection cruise.

You can find many places to wet your whistle when you’re aboard a Celebrity Reflection cruise. There are eight different bars, lounges and club, each with their own unique atmospheres and specialties, so you can find one that fits your style.

Martini Bar & Crush serves classic and reinvented martinis in an upscale atmosphere. Michael’s Club is the exclusive private lounge reserved for Suite-class travelers. Cellars Masters features a large selection of wines in a low-key, yet still sophisticated setting. The Sky Observation Lounge is quiet during the day, but filled with live music in the evening, but you can always go there for breathtaking views of the water.

Pool & Mast Bar is the place to go anytime you want to grab a drink while also getting your tan on. Ensemble Lounge provides elegant drinks alongside great entertainment. World Class Bar is for a luxurious cocktail experience and Passport Bar is a cozy, relaxed bar for those seeking something inviting and not at all pretentious.

3. Put fitness first

There’s no need to leave behind your New Year’s health resolutions when you embark on a Celebrity Reflection cruise. Celebrity has teamed up with health and fitness, lifestyle and hospitality brand Canyon Ranch to provide travelers with state-of-the-art health and fitness amenities.

The Canyon Ranch Fitness at SEA program aboard a Celebrity Reflection cruise includes access to a gorgeous fitness center with floor-to-ceiling windows with ocean views, treadmills, rowing machines, stair climbers, recumbent bikes, ellipticals, free weights and cross trainers; a jogging track; sports court; and more. Daily group fitness classes are available, but there are also personal sessions as an option for those who want to work with a pro one-on-one to discuss their exercise, diet and lifestyle goals.

Once you’re done with your workout, you can enjoy the fitness center’s pool, sauna or the spa cafe.

4. Brush up on beauty

During a vacation, you want to feel like your best self, so make sure you let your best self truly shine while on a Celebrity Reflection cruise, when you take advantage of the ship’s many beauty services. There’s a salon offering hair cutting, styling and coloring services; barbering services; manicures and pedicures; teeth whitening; and more. Products used at the salon are specially picked to give you a relaxing, efficient experience that leaves you rejuvenated and ready to enjoy your cruise to the fullest.

5. Take a trip to the spa

If you want a little further pampering, you’ll definitely enjoy everything offered at the Canyon Ranch Spa. Book a massage, facial or body wrap. You can even enjoy an acupuncture session, where experienced practitioners use this ancient Chinese holistic healing practice to relieve your pain, stress or whatever else ails you.

MedSpa offerings are available, too, and if you’re not sure that a facial treatment or BOTOX (or similar products) is right for you, you can always book a complimentary, no-obligation consultation to discuss your needs and what you’re looking to get out of a MedSpa treatment. Regardless of what you choose, though, you’re bound to leave the Canyon Ranch Spa better than you arrived.

6. Channel your inner chef

Top Chef fans will love this fact about their Celebrity Reflection cruise. Since Celebrity has a partnership with the Bravo show Top Chef, that means Celebrity’s ships offer some Top Chef experiences and perks.

As such, passengers can channel their inner chefs and get competitive, when they participate in Quickfire Challenge cooking competitions, just like you’d see on the show. There are also Top Chef menus in the main dining room on occasion, during which you can pick from dishes that have appeared on the show and that were created by previous Top Chef contestants.

7. Get some sun

There’s absolutely no shortage of sun on a Celebrity Reflection cruise. You’ll find that the outdoor space is absolutely plentiful. There are three different pools to choose from, two on the main pool deck and one that’s hidden under a glass roof.

The Lawn Club, with its restaurant, offers a huge lawn with real grass on the top deck. The space is pretty big for a cruise ship, a half acre in size. The lawn is a great spot to read, play a lawn game (croquet and bocce are available) or enjoy a meal or just a drink.

8. Tap into your artistic side at The Art Studio

The on-board Art Studio is a great place to get a little creative and maybe learn a new skill or two. The Art Studio is helmed by two Master Artists and Celebrity has teamed with the ArtCenter in South Florida, an organization dedicated to art culture in the region, to provide an artistic experience to cruisers that can’t be missed. Take classes, watch demonstrations and learn a new creative skill, whether you want to make some jewelry, paint a portrait or even learn some culinary skills.

Reflection Theatre is the place to be if you’re looking for live entertainment during the course of your Celebrity Reflection cruise. The large theater is still intimate enough to provide you with a uniquely Celebrity-style entertainment experience, but not too cozy that you feel crowded. Shows that you might be able to catch during your cruise include musical concerts, Broadway-style theatrical performances and even some comedy.

Of course, you can also catch entertainment at Celebrity Central, where the productions are just as diverse, ranging from film showings to lectures from Smithsonian-approved speakers to late-night comedy.

10. Spend a little cash

If you find that your vacation money is burning a hole in your pocket, you don’t have to wait until your ship docks at your next destination in order to spend it. You’ll soon learn that you can enjoy both shopping and gambling during a Celebrity Reflection cruise, with ease.

Visit Fortunes Casino if you happen to be feeling a little lucky, where the Las Vegas-style casino offers both table games and slot machines.

If you’d rather not try your hand at a game of chance, you can visit the Shops on the Boulevard or Galleria Boutiques, for all your favorite brands of apparel, jewelry, makeup, fragrances and gifts. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it, with new shops recently added from Tiffany and Swiss Watch.

Celebrity is also the first authorized Apple reseller at sea, and offers Apple products for both sale and general use in the Celebrity iLounge.

11. Get some work done

Want to know how to be the boss of the year? Host your next business meeting or conference during a Celebrity Reflection cruise. The cruise ship’s conference center can accommodate 140 guests for business meetings, conferences, cocktail parties or even weddings. Catering is included, with options from a James Beard-featured culinary team.

12. Check out some art

The on-board Art Gallery features thought-provoking and inspiring pieces at sea. Visiting is a quick endeavor, but you might find it one that makes your day just a little more special. In addition to admiring the artwork, passengers can also purchase select pieces, for a totally unique souvenir.

13. Chill for a bit

Sometimes you just need a little alone time during your vacation. If peace and quiet is what you’re after, visit The Hideaway, the only public space on the ship’s Deck 7. It’s a totally relaxing atmosphere where you can cozy up and read, listen to music or just be alone with your thoughts.
